The museum tries to retrace the daily life of the inhabitants of the Cantal from the Neolithic period to the present day. Prehistoric bifaces are displayed alongside Gallo-Roman ceramics and Aurillac parasols.

On the second floor of the museum, you can experience the daily life of the region's inhabitants through the ages. There is something for everyone! Prehistoric furniture, Gallo-Roman relics, and much more await you!

Impressive collections

On the second floor of the museum, you will find a number of sculptures and paintings from the 17th century to the present day.

Works by local artists, sometimes unknown, sometimes famous, such as Auguste Rodin, the legendary sculptor who bequeathed us his Thinker, or Camille Claudel, his apprentice, muse, lover, but also the one who eventually surpassed him.

To complete the picture, temporary exhibitions are organized along the way, especially for lovers of contemporary arts, such as photography.
