The Château de Val, bordering the lake

It is in an exceptional setting, nestled on its rock of more than 30 meters and at the edge of the water that you will be able to meet the Castle of Val, built in the 15th century. It is thanks to a dam (built around 1950 in order to supply the city with electricity) that the feet of the walls are now surrounded by the water of an artificial lake. Thus, the castle now reveals its six incredible and majestic turrets as if by magic! You will be amazed at the peace and quiet that reigns there.

Inside, tours are organized to allow you to discover the castle life of the successive owners.

The Castle of Pesteils, the medieval spirit

Classified as a historical monument, this castle is perched on its steep rock at 750 meters above sea level and dominates the Cère Valley. Its fabulous keep expresses its majesty and takes us back to the Middle Ages.

Surrounded by magnificent gardens that spread out at the foot of the keep, it offers a calm and restful surrounding landscape. You will also be able to admire the magnificent panorama that these gardens offer on the Cantal Mountains and the Cère Valley.

Restored in the 19th century, this castle was also enlarged. It remains today the property of the family of Cassagne de Beaufort de Miramon Pesteils, family which still lives there today.

The little surprise of the visit: Within this fortress, you will surely have the chance to meet one or more of the 20 wax figures. They illustrate seven centuries of daily life that the castle of Pesteils could contain.
