  • Museums

- The Volcanoes Museum
The permanent exhibition of the Museum of Volcanoes invites you to discover the workings of the Earth and a phenomenon that is inseparable from the history of the Cantal: volcanism. The museum's collections (rocks, minerals, naturalized animals, etc. ....) are a testimony to these riches in four large rooms.

- The Museum of Art and Archaeology
The museum's reception opens with a presentation of collections of parasols and antique umbrellas, the know-how that made the city famous. Tools and accessories for making umbrellas are displayed alongside precious and system umbrellas.
On the second floor, the archaeology rooms retrace the life and habitat of the Cantal from its origins to the medieval period.

  • To the arts in the street, Aurillac an open-air museum

- Street art, art in the street or art for all. The 10th Art Festival.

In the global sphere of urban art, Aurillac has been able to make its mark. From murals to EDF terminals, real works of art are revealed to passers-by. Artists, emerging or well-known, local or international, graphic artists, graffiti artists, plastic artists or muralists intervene in the public space and allow people to rediscover the city through an artistic itinerary.

- The theaters

Street theater festival
If Avignon is known for its theater festival, Charleville-Mézières for its puppets, Aurillac is now famous for its street arts.
Professionals, street theater enthusiasts and the simply curious all agree on one thing: the indescribable atmosphere that emanates from the Aurillac festival.
Every summer, during the third week of August, 100,000 spectators crowd the streets of Aurillac for four days for the largest European street theater festival. In addition to the official program, more than 500 companies from around the world take over the squares and streets of Aurillac.

Municipal Theater
The theater is at the heart of the cultural life of the region. This municipal facility is designed to host all types of live performances.
Equipped with the technical and human resources to meet its requirements, Aurillac's theater welcomes all artists wishing to perform in the city, a fine program for theater lovers.
